By using the Columbus Rewards Card, Columbus Rewards App and virtual Columbus Rewards Card on the App you agree to these Terms and Conditions (or ‘terms’). If you have any questions about the Columbus Rewards programme, please ask at your local Columbus Coffee or call 0800 100 110.
Columbus Coffee reserves the right at its sole discretion to change these terms and conditions, the terms of any of its special offers or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Columbus Rewards programme at any time without notice. Any changes will be posted on this website, and issued in an update for the Columbus Rewards App.
Each Columbus Coffee customer is permitted to have one Columbus Rewards Card that will be allocated to one nominated email address when the member registers online. Each email address may only be used for a single membership.
Columbus Coffee may grant or refuse membership in its absolute discretion.
Ownership of your Columbus Rewards Card
Your Columbus Rewards Card and the Columbus Rewards App are the property of Columbus Coffee NZ Limited. You must not copy or reproduce your Columbus Rewards Card or the software for the Columbus Rewards App and you must not interfere with the operation of the Columbus Rewards App or the virtual card.
Registering your Columbus Rewards Card
If you have a Columbus Rewards Card:
- You need to register and activate it before you can use it to redeem your Columbus Reward Points.
- You don’t need to register it in order to collect Columbus Reward Points.
If you have a virtual card on the App your virtual card is automatically activated using the details you provide when you register for your virtual card.
There are three ways to register and activate your physical Columbus Rewards card:
1. log on here at columbuscoffee.co.nz/rewards, follow the prompts and use the Card Number and 4 digit Password on your card; or if you have downloaded the Columbus Rewards App, simply follow the prompts on the Columbus Rewards App and enter the information requested.
2. Complete a Registration Form in-store.
3. Text REGISTER, your Card Number and Password to 8810.
Once you’ve registered your card you will be sent an email to verify and confirm your card activation. You must confirm this in order to complete the card activation process. Please note: no email is sent for virtual card registrations via the App.
What your card can be used for
Your Columbus Rewards Card can be used for:
- Purchasing products at any Columbus Coffee cafe.
- Collecting Columbus Reward Points towards approved Columbus Coffee products.
The Columbus Rewards Card is not a credit or charge card. You cannot sell or convert your Columbus Reward Points balance into cash.
Earning Columbus Reward points
You can earn Columbus Reward Points every time you make a purchase and scan your physical or virtual card at the till in a Columbus Coffee café. In some instances, points may take up to 48 hours to appear in your account.
The Columbus Reward Points allocation may change from time to time without prior notice to you. The current points allocation is $1 = 5 points.
You cannot earn Columbus Reward Points when making a purchase using Columbus Reward Points.
If you return a product or receive a refund on a product, we reserve the right to reverse the Columbus Reward Points earned for the original purchase.
No Columbus Reward Points will be earned on historical purchases.
Redeeming Columbus Reward points
You can redeem your Columbus Reward Points for approved Columbus Coffee products.
Your Columbus Reward Card must be registered before you are eligible to redeem your Columbus Reward Points for approved Columbus Coffee products.
You will receive Triple Reward Points on all purchases for a period of one month from the date your card is registered. The Triple Reward Points gift is limited to one per customer. Should you lose your card and register a second card you will not receive a second gift of Triple Reward Points. The Triple Reward Points gift is available for a limitied time.
Columbus Reward Points cannot be redeemed for cash.
We will deduct the appropriate number of Columbus Reward Points from your points balance when you redeem points for approved Columbus Coffee products.
Approved Columbus Coffee products are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or substituted at any time.
All special offers are subject to availability, which may vary between Columbus Coffee cafes. Columbus Coffee is not responsible if a special offer is not available on the day you come to redeem your special offer.
Some customers may be ineligible to redeem special offers because of their age or as a legal requirement. It is at Columbus Coffee's sole discretion whether to issue you with a special offer.
Information about your Columbus Rewards & personal details
You can check:
- Your Columbus Reward Points balance
- Your Personal Details
by logging on here at columbuscoffee.co.nz/rewards and following the prompts, or by checking on your Columbus Rewards App.
You are required to update any changes to your personal details as soon as possible after they change.
Downloading the Columbus Rewards app
You can download the Columbus Rewards App and virtual card by visiting your phone’s App store and downloading the ‘Columbus Rewards App’. The Columbus Rewards App is currently available for both Android and iPhones.

From time to time we will update the Columbus Rewards App and you will need to download all updates.
If you have problems downloading the Columbus Rewards App your phone model may not be supported.
The barcode display of your virtual card on your mobile phone must be appropriate for scanning using our in-store software. You are responsible for costs involved in implementing and using the Columbus Rewards App on your mobile device.
If you are not yet a member of the Columbus Rewards programme and choose to join using the app, you will earn a 2for1 coffee voucher once you have downloaded and registered your details on the app. This can be used in any Columbus Coffee and expires 1 month after the date of issue. To qualify for the voucher you must not already be a member of Columbus Rewards. The voucher cannot be earned by switching from a physical card to the app.
Lost or stolen cards & mobile phones
If your Columbus Rewards Card is lost, stolen or destroyed (including but not limited to the loss of your mobile phone containing your Columbus Reward Card in the form of the virtual card), you must freeze the balance on your card by logging on here at columbuscoffee.co.nz/rewards and clicking on LOST OR STOLEN CARD or call us on 0800 100 110.
Provided your Columbus Rewards Card is activated, we can freeze your remaining Columbus Rewards Points balance from the time that you report to us that your Columbus Rewards Card is lost, stolen or destroyed.
To receive a new Columbus Rewards card
Visit a Columbus Coffee café to collect a brand new Columbus Rewards Card. Please note: Do not scan this card in-store. When you have your new card, return to this website and login to your account to transfer your old balance and personal details to the new card by following the prompts.
By clicking FREEZE in the LOST OR STOLEN CARD section of this website you agree to freeze your Columbus Rewards Points. This action is not reversible and you will not be able to collect Reward Points or redeem Reward Points until you have registered your new un-used card.
We may require proof of your identity to freeze a balance, replace a card, or credit a replacement Columbus Rewards Card with previously earned Columbus Reward Points.
The issuing of a replacement Columbus Rewards Card is at our sole discretion.
Cancellation of your Columbus Rewards card
We reserve the right to cancel your Columbus Rewards Card at any time without prior notice if we consider you have used your Columbus Rewards Card or Columbus Rewards App fraudulently or otherwise in contravention of these terms and conditions or the law generally.
If we cancel your Columbus Rewards Card, any unused Columbus Reward Points will be valid for three months from the date of cancellation, after which any unused Columbus Rewards points expire.
This three month expiry period does not apply to a Columbus Rewards Card which has been lost, stolen or destroyed. You can cancel your Columbus Rewards Card by writing to:

Where you cancel your Columbus Rewards Card, any unused Columbus Reward Points balance will immediately expire.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we do not accept responsibility for, and we will not be liable for, any loss or damage suffered by you, however caused, in connection with or arising from your Columbus Rewards Card or use of this website or the Columbus Rewards App or the virtual card, including but not limited to:
- Any delay in replacing your Columbus Rewards Card;
- Any unauthorised use of your Columbus Rewards Card or the Columbus Rewards App;
- Any approved Columbus Coffee product not being available for any reason;
- Any failure to credit you with a Columbus Rewards balance;
- Any problems or technical malfunction of the Columbus Rewards App, the virtual card, or any network or lines, servers or providers;
- Any failure to notify you of any changes in these Terms; or
- Any failure to notify you of cancellation of your Columbus Rewards Card.
You hereby irrevocably hold us harmless from all claims, demands, actions and proceedings which you have or in the future may have against us, and shall indemnify and release us from all and any claims for damages or otherwise in the terms of, and in connection with or arising from your Columbus Rewards Card or use of this website or the Columbus Rewards App or the virtual card, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
In all matters, all decisions of Columbus Coffee will be final and cannot be contested and by taking part in the Columbus Rewards Programme you hereby agree to accept such decisions.
You may have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 which are not excluded or limited by anything set out in these Terms. Each exclusion or limitation of liability in these Terms and Conditions also applies to the owners and operators of Columbus Coffee, its related entities, franchisees, store operators and employees.
The Columbus Rewards Programme is exclusive to CCNZ Ltd ("Columbus Coffee").
Columbus Coffee owns all copyright in the Columbus Rewards Programme.
